It's that time of year again. Saturday May 12th we will be holding our Wrestling Team Carwash.

The wrestlers need to be there between 8:30 am and approximately 2 pm.

Now that wrestling season has come to an end, we will be having a banquet to honor the hard work of all of our wrestlers and recognize all of the parents for their support. We are working on a slideshow for the banquet so if you have any pictures of your wrestler and/or others taken during the meets please send them in to be included.

Invitations will be handed to your child at school some time next week so please look for it. The banquet is Sunday, April 22nd from 5:00 - 9:00 pm at Mile Square Park Golf Course.

1. Before the Holiday Break you were sent a form regarding concussions that needs to be signed by you and your wrestler and returned to Coach Rasmussen. This form MUST be returned no later than Tuesday, January 3rd. If Coach Rasmussen does not have this form by that day the school will not allow your child to wrestle.

This form was emailed again earlier this week. Please get the forms into Coach Rasmussen this week during practice or by Tuesday, January 3rd when they return to school.

2. All singlets must be returned to Coach Rasmussen ASAP. If your wrestler was given a singlet to compete recently please wash it (cold water and hang to dry) and return it no later than Tuesday.

3. Next Thursday, January 5th is our first Dual meet with Edison High School at Marina. We will need donations for the snack bar (gatorade, water, sodas, candy (twizzlers, skittles and starburst are big sellers), apples, chips, cup o'noodles, etc). We are putting together a request list and will send this out tomorrow. We need the donations to be turned into the wrestling room by Wednesday, January 4th. We also may need some parent help to run the snack bar, please let Dani N. know if you are available to help.

The Dual meets begin at 4:00 pm for Freshman and JV and 5:30pm for Varsity. Weigh-ins are at 2:30pm so the snack bar will open around then. The meet should end by 6:30pm.

There is no Freshman tournament this weekend.

Coach Rasmussen will finalize the Varsity and JV teams today and will let your wrestler know which tournament they will be attending. If your wrestler is not competing this weekend it would be good for them to go watch the Varsity tournament on Friday night or Saturday. There will be some great wrestling and they can always learn by watching.

NEXT WEEK -- VERY IMPORTANT

Tuesday, 12/20 - Thursday 12/22 ALL WRESTLERS are required to be at MHS for The Mann Classic Tournament. This tournament is a fundraiser for our wrestling program. This is a Varsity tournament so only Varsity will be competing. The rest of the wrestlers will be working the tournament, they will be time keepers, and score keepers and help where ever else they are needed.

Here is the schedule:

Tuesday, 12/20: be at MHS at 10:00 am for set-up. They will be there as long as it takes to get everything set up.

Wednesday, 12/21: be at MHS at 7:00 am until approx. 9:00 pm or however late Day 1 runs.

Thursday, 12/22: be at MHS at 7:00 am until approx 9:00 pm. After the tournament ends everything has to be taken down and put away
